SPENDING MONTHS IN CENTRAL ASIA has taught me one thing: drop the vegetarian in you. A life changing assignment following health educators through Tajik villages, riding the dusty roads of Badhakshan, in Afghanistan, to interview some amazingly strong female farmers. I travelled with a young 21 year old midwife as she visited mothers to be in remote mountain communities – commanding respect by saving lives with grace and humility.
